‘Field Of Hope’

 

 

 

In partnership with the Marie Curie Cancer Charity we will be planting a field of hope. Students can purchase a daffodil bulb and plant it either in memory of somebody they have lost or simply for somebody they love.

 

During the holidays i have been discussing at length with the Charity about the event. I have also sent out letters asking local garden centers for any donations of Bulbs. Only one Centre got back to me, Barlaston Nursery! They have kindly ordered us 3 bags of bulbs each with around 300 bulbs in, and they will be delivering them to us. This is an extremely generous donation (considering the nursery is not trading whilst they update their site) and I’m sure all staff and students will join me in thanking them!

 

 

The date has now been confirmed and plans are under way!

Youth St Vincent De Paul Group

I have now met with Janet Convey (and former teacher at STM). She is extremely keen to get the SVP up and running. The plans in place so far are to begin with a group of core sixth formers, and then in the new year extend it to lower year students. We are currently in the process of confirming our community placement helping students at St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School.

 

St Thomas More’s Got Talent!!!!

Based on the T.V show Britain’s Got Talent, we have decided to run our very own! Entry forms have now all been received and we are currently allocating Audition days. Once auditions are complete the final acts will go forward to the final show. It will all be put together to make a special DVD at the end!
